Before establishing Getting It Write, Inc I had over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and consulting. Early in my career, I worked for large corporations such as Xerox, Honeywell, and General Motors. I focused on implementing what were then emerging office technologies, such as computer-based word processing systems, internal e-mail systems, and personal computers. At Deloitte & Touche, I established a business reengineering consulting practice, helping businesses streamline their operations before rushing to automation. I worked with companies of all sizes in diverse industries. In fact, I've probably worked in your industry at some point. I also held positions at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Johns Hopkins Hospital as Director of Business Systems. Then, I left the world of big business. I owned a small graphics firm for five years, combining skills in marketing communications and graphic design, to assist clients in fine-tuning their message and presenting it effectively. So, I know how the big boys work. And, I find bringing that knowledge to the small business community very rewarding. My company does not suffer from red tape, and neither do my clients! A friend of mine is a REALTOR®. One day we were discussing the personal marketing challenges she faces. It occurred to me that she should manage her marketing the same way a company manages its marketing. And, that she wasn't selling houses, she was running a real estate consulting practice to help her clients make sound real estate decisions.
