This is a test of Apture. If I wanted some information about Atlanta, Georgia, perhaps a video tour of the city, along with information from Wikipedia about Midtown Atlanta, I can put both of those items under one link. And, I could also link to a map of Midtown Atlanta. If you have a PDF file on your PC, you can embed it into your web page, like the one above. Visitors can use the toggle button in the upper right corner to go to a full-screen view. The photo above has been embedded from Flickr. The key is that you don't use Apture while you're logged in to the backoffice. Just set up the page, logout, then, use Apture to add the links. And, the Apture system will only allow the full functionality to work on websites that allow sharing. If you need to link to a site that doesn't allow sharing, the system will automatically tell you it will open that link in a new window. While double-checking a site's terms of service would be a good idea if Apture doesn't indicate the site will open in a new window, it looks like you won't need to worry very much about copyright infringement. Here's another tip: ensure that your page is in final form. If you make lots of editing changes, you may have to redo your Apture links and embeds. |
